Compass Mortgages
Pointing a brokerage in the right direction
Compass Mortgages called the dollop hotline with a problem. Their brand felt stale. And their website hadn’t been touched since the time Opal Fruits were still on shelves.
They asked for our help. We said yes. Before you know it, we were on the A27 to Steyning prepped with pads, pencils, and a fresh puff of pastries.
Can we workshop it? Yes, we can
Before we got busy with shapes and spacing, we had to define the brand direction by finding a single idea everything else could stand behind. Somewhere between a second cortado and fourth pastry, that very idea spilled out our client’s mouth:
“We’re all-encompassing.”
Clouds parted, a double rainbow formed, rabbits danced on the cobblestone pathways. We knew we were on to something. So now it was time to gather in dollop HQ, put our pinnies on, and bring everything to life.
Moving the needle with nifty design
Brimming with a clear brief, we explored initial routes for the verbal and visual identity. We also crafted a clear positioning statement everyone at Compass could proudly stand behind. Here it is.
If it isn’t all-encompassing, it isn’t Compass
Exploring the world of mortgages is easier when you know where you’re heading. But for many of our clients, it’s a landscape lying unknown.
We exist to point people in the right direction. Not simply by offering clear advice, but by securing a mortgage as personalised as our service.
Because to us, reaching a destination is only part of the story. What’s just as important, is the experience we offer along the way. We are Compass.
Moving onto design, the existing logo had a strong marquee. So to protect visual retention and recognition, we tweaked current designs by introducing stronger blues together with a cream background.
We also binned the stock photography for beautiful illustrations and played around with colour palettes to add extra depth, interest and patterns to print and digital designs.
At each stage of the project, we had regular in-person check-ins with the client. And although the pastries didn’t do much for our waste lines, it meant everyone could sleep easy knowing something special was in the making.
Like what you see?
If you want to have a proper nosy, here’s our work in the wild. And if you need help with bringing your website to life, gizzatinkle.
